Westmeath Railway Line Given new Lease of Life
Location: Westmeath, Ireland
An abandoned railway line from Mullingar to Athlone has being given a new lease of life, being transformed into a section of the national cycleway network.
With 16 bridges to be protected, we came alongside the client to design and install 1400mm high safety railings that would blend into the historic setting. Our BS: 7818 Class 3C compliant railings were galvanised and then painted black, providing a smart and robust solution. The new cycleway will act as a catalyst to drive more leisure and tourism into the region. Emtek were awarded the role of project co-ordinator and project supervisor on this scheme, giving the client a full service package.
