  • Project Title: Coca-Cola Factory, Lisburn

    The Challenge: Provide shelters with a cutting edge design to reflect iconic new bottling plant.

    The Solution: Emtek provided bespoke architectural shelters for this new £53M production facility. Developed in consultation with the clients lead architect, we manufactured the shelters from robust steel sections that were then galvanised and painted. Each shelter was given a modern curve design and was covered in durable UV protected clear polycarbonate panels. The new facility is amongst the most modern of bottling plant in the world and our shelters will be providing cover to staff and visitors for many years to come.

  • Project Title: Woodside Ferry Terminal, Liverpool

    The Challenge: Provide traditional style bollards for new dockside pedestrian regeneration scheme.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their versatile Shannon 01 bollards, manufactured from a robust steel core, covered in a maintenance free polyurethane outer moulding. This traditional style is popular for pedestrian areas, with its solid construction, high visibility top band and good aesthetic appeal; it proved the ideal choice for the dockside project. Our Shannon range offers a variety of design styles and bollards that can be supplied in most RAL colours.

  • Project Title: N9/N10 Carlow – Kilcullen (Phase 3)

    The Challenge: Provide comprehensive range of EN: 1317 Approved Road Restraint Systems for the construction of a new 27.5 kilometre stretch of motorway linking Dublin to Waterford, ensuring each product links seamlessly one to another.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their N2 Protect 365 Steel Parapets to all 24 structures and used the newly tested VT-100 Transition to link into their N2 Vetex Safety Barriers and P1 Terminals. By providing systems that had been physically crash tested at MIRA there was no risk of split liability between systems as they were now proven to work together seamlessly. In total over 12500m of parapet tubing was manufactured in our production facility in Co. Armagh under our QMS ISO 9001:2000 and National Highway Sector Scheme Approval 5A & 5B. In addition almost 100 No. EN: 1317 approved transitions were installed along with over 30km of N2 Safety Barrier and hundreds of P1 Terminals, all by our third party verified team of installers (NHSS Approval 2B). Working closely with the main contractor we were able to provide cost effective solutions that ensured a fully tested and approved family of Road Restraint Systems.

  • Project Title: Silverwood Business Park, Co. Armagh

    The Challenge: Provide speed control to new entrance of busy industrial park.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their cost effective speed ramps which were quickly fitted by our installation team straight onto the existing concrete surface. Our 50mm and 75mm high ramps are manufactured from heavy duty recycled plastic, moulded in a quality controlled environment ensuring consistent modular units every time. Available in black and yellow for increased visibility our team can also supply a range of traffic speed restriction signs.

  • Project Title: Ford, Co. Antrim

    The Challenge: Provide elegant perimeter protection bollards for new state of the art Ford dealership.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their beautifully crafted City 02 bollards, manufactured from a robust steel core with a unique stainless steel ring detail. With 80 static bollards provided along the front of the showroom, several quick access telescopic bollards were also installed.   • Project Title: DBFO 1, Term Maintenance Contract, Belfast

    The Challenge: Provide infrastructure maintenance services across 60 kilometres of road restraint systems.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their Maintain-Beam services with a rapid response team to react to emergency repairs along the network. Made up of traditional OBB and TCB safety barrier systems throughout much of the maintenance area, Emtek used their stocking facilities of older generation systems to be able to provide quick responses to accidents. Whilst also updating sections of the network with new generation EN: 1317 approved systems, our teams are committed to providing maintenance services to a variety of road restraint systems across some of the busiest sections of motorway in Ireland & UK.

  • Project Title: Pollock Dock, Belfast Harbour Commissioners

    The Challenge: Provide robust protection to cladding and structure of new distribution centre at busy port.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their Industrial Safety Barrier’s along the perimeter of the external cladding of the warehouse to minimise potential damage from vehicle and fork lift truck strikes. Additional high visibility bollards and end caps were installed at the roller shutter door openings and emergency exits. Surface mounted Industrial Safety Barriers were also fitted at the dock edge to act as a vehicle guide during the off-loading of goods. All our industrial components are manufactured under strict quality controlled environment and are hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461.

  • Project Title: Armagh Streetscape

    The Challenge: Provide BS: 7533 complaint bedding concretes, mortars and grouts to busy city centre regeneration project, requiring rapid trafficking of urban precincts.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their Ultrascape cementitious materials pre-blended in convenient 25kg bags, fully compliant to the required BS: 7533. Ideal for areas requiring rapid trafficking, the Ultrascape ranges are high strength gain and rapid setting products for both flexible and rigid paving applications. The historical city of Armagh required the full complement of materials, from our Pro-Prime slurry primer and Pro-Bed HS bedding concrete, to our Flow-Point rapid setting flowable grout system. With much of the material delivered in bulk loads, our ability to provide buffer stocks of materials from our National Warehouse also proved invaluable during busy periods of high output paving.

  • Project Title: M2 Motorway, Belfast

    The Challenge: Provide EN: 1317 approved transition from Parapet to Safety Barrier on new motorway upgrade scheme.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their newly tested VT-100 Transition, a fully compliant and approved method of seamless transition from N2 Parapet to N2 Safety Barrier Systems. Developed in partnership with Corus, the transition went through stringent computer modelling simulations before being physically crash tested at MIRA in the UK. After a successful test the transition was EN: 1317 approved by Highways Agency. Manufactured from high grade steel and hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, our transition is strong and durable for the modern highway application.

  • Project Title: Storm Water Attenuation, Translink, Co. Antrim

    The Challenge: Provide load bearing storm water attenuation tanks to new bus depot ‘park & ride’ scheme.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their steel load bearing attenuation system. A lightweight yet extremely strong design, our helically wound pipes and tanks proved to be both cost effective and quick to install. A BBA Hapas approved system, the tank was supplied with pre-fitted shafts, access ladders, outlet and inlet valves to allow for ease of commissioning and future maintenance. Designed to Highways Agency standard BD 12, our tanks offer engineers all the benefits of a load bearing pipe, but with the added value of excellent storm water attenuation and control.

  • Project Title: Carrickfergus Castle Pedestrian Walkway Regeneration, Co. Antrim

    The Challenge: Provide maintenance free pedestrian handrails to popular coastal walkway.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their Ballinderry 02 Post & Rail system, manufactured using Ferrocast, a maintenance free polyurethane compound moulded over a robust steel inner core. Designed to reflect the ocean wave crashing against the coastal wall, our Ballinderry 02 system was installed using maintenance free high grade stainless steel chemical anchor studs, ensuring the striking design was not compromised by its foundation. As part of the project the old original metal railing was dismantled by our fitters and sent for recycling. Our Ballinderry range of Post & Rail systems can be manufactured to facilitate steps, raked and radius walls and are available in any RAL colour. An ideal solution for coastal and marine settings when on-going annual maintenance costs can often become unsustainable.

  • Project Title: Permanent Cold Lay Surfacing Macadam Contract, Roads Service of Northern Ireland

    The Challenge: Provide high quality bagged PCSM to regional roads depots throughout Northern Ireland on annual framework contract.

    The Solution: Emtek provided their market leading Instant Road Repair in 25kg bags, a permanent macadam ideal for small patch repairs and reinstatements, particularly pot hole repairs. BBA Hapas approved, our IRR product proved a cost effective high quality solution to the multiple depots and our ability to ship finished product ex-stock direct from our National Warehouse proved to be the winning formula. Instant Road Repair is available with 3mm, 6mm and 10mm stone and with its unique binder enables immediate set upon compaction of the macadam. An ideal solution for rapid trafficking of our busy roads.
