March 2010

- Project Title: Derry City Centre
Public Realm Scheme
The Challenge: Provide fast setting
bedding concretes, mortars and grouts for
16,000m² of natural stone paving to busy city
centre regeneration project, requiring rapid
trafficking of urban precincts.
The Solution: Emtek provided their
Ultrascape cementitious materials, pre-blended
in 20T silo’s and also in convenient 25kg bags.
Being fully compliant with the required BS: 7533
(part 12), it was ideal for areas requiring
rapid trafficking or weekend works. The
historical walled city of Derry required the
full complement of Emtek Ultrascape materials,
from our Pro-Prime slurry primer and Pro-Bed HS
bedding concrete, to our Flow-Point rapid
setting flowable grout system. Our ability to
provide technical site support and carry buffer
stocks of materials at our warehouse proved
invaluable during busy periods of high output
paving.

Offaly
The Challenge: Provide High Containment
Bridge Parapet and Safety Barrier systems for
the construction of a new 15 kilometre stretch

Ireland.

to offer containment for the main Dublin-Athlone
Railway Line, across 6 structures. These were
joined seamlessly to our VT-100 Transitions,
providing the link to our N2 Safety Barriers and
Terminals. Our Contracts and Production teams

- Project Title: Carrigart Housing Scheme,
Co. Armagh
The Challenge: Provide cost effective
roofing system to new housing development.
The Solution: Emtek provided a durable
concrete interlocking roof tile, on a non
breathable underlay. With dry fix ridge, hip and
verge also being used on the scheme, this
eliminated the requirement for future mortar
maintenance to these areas. Eave ventilation was
also supplied and fitted by our experienced
installers, as was the provision of all required
Lead Flashings to the roofs. In total 7 No.
houses were completed with this system and
additional value added to the client as we also
installed the Road Restraint Systems required on
the site, highlighting our ability to provide
integrated construction and infrastructure
solutions.
